Safe Life reinforces Swiss presence – acquires Formamed
Stockholm, Sweden – May 12, 2026 – Safe Life, a leading provider of life-saving solutions with operations across Europe, North America and Asia, announces the acquisition of Formamed (https://www.formamed.ch). Based in Cortaillod, Neuchâtel, in Switzerland, Formamed has built a comprehensive first response training offering and provides services in the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Valais, Fribourg and Neuchâtel.
19 years ago, ambulance technicians Michaël Terrapan and Daniel Enggist set out on a quest to bring higher-quality first response training to everyone. Their training offering today remains true to the foundation, including First Aid and CPR, Fire Safety, Evacuation and tailored profession-specific first response courses. Since a number of years, Formamed also advises on and sells fire extinguishers and AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and carries out on-site maintenance on those devices. The training offering is and always has been founded on employing top quality trainers with real-life emergency experience and an innovative teaching process which emphasizes and promotes practical and realistic scenarios. The company holds multiple ISO certifications across quality management, learning services and medical device systems.
“Formamed is a fantastic addition to the Group,” says Jimmy Eriksson, CEO of Safe Life. “Their focus on quality, commitment to truly transferring skills in their training, and innovative approaches for bringing safety enhancing and life-saving equipment to customers resonate extremely well with Safe Life’s mission. I very much look forward to seeing their continued success and welcome the opportunities we now have for further collaboration within Switzerland as well as with nearby countries in Europe. Formamed, with Michaël and Daniel at the helm, will both help drive and be supported by our expansion of training.”
The combination of local entrepreneurship and customer relations with the group’s synergistic global capabilities is a core part of Safe Life’s strategy. Formamed will continue to operate under its current leadership and its well-established brand, while accessing and drawing on resources available to them within the Safe Life group.
Michaël Terrapan, co-founder of Formamed, comments:
"I am very proud of what we have built to date, and incredibly keen to get going on the next phase together with Safe Life. We of course already have a number of ideas on our next step developments, and it will be great to work on those in our new setting.” Daniel Enggist, co-founder of Formamed, adds: “Our values have guided us well in how we have shaped the business, in customer interactions, and in how our team is built. I see those values very well reflected in how Safe Life approaches things. We have common ground. We also have a shared view on what next stage success looks like. It is going to be great to jointly work toward that, ensuring existing and new customers receive even more value and better support."
The acquisition, marking number 49 for Safe Life, is part of an ambitious growth strategy where the group combines organic offering development, global synergies and inorganic strategic growth.
