Buy itFrom cyberspace to crawl spaces, new innovations in information gathering have left the private life of the average person open to scrutiny, and worse, exploitation. In this thoroughly revised update of his immensely popular guide How to Be Invisible, J.J. Luna shows you how to protect yourself from these information predators by securing your vehicle and real estate ownership, your bank accounts, your business dealings, your computer files, your home address, and more.
J.J. Luna, a highly trained and experienced security consultant, shows you how to achieve the privacy you crave and deserve, whether you just want to shield yourself from casual scrutiny or take your life savings with you and disappearing without a trace. Whatever your needs, Luna reveals the shocking secrets that private detectives and other seekers of personal information use to uncover information and then shows how to make a serious commitment to safeguarding yourself.
There is a prevailing sense in our society that true privacy is a thing of the past. Filled with vivid real life stories drawn from the headlines and from Luna's own consulting experience, How to Be Invisible, Revised Edition is a critical antidote to the privacy concerns that continue only to grow in magnitude as new and more efficient ways of undermining our personal security are made available. Privacy is a commonly-lamented casualty of the Information Age and of the world's changing climate-but that doesn't mean you have to stand for it.

The advice in this book may work, but you will be known as, "The guy who never gives out his address etc"
You will also be tagged as a crank and a misanthrope.
Unless you enjoy living in isolation, this book will make you more obvious, not less.
And in addition, the author is a patronizing elitist. I stopped reading when I got to the paragraph on schools and your children:
"Privacy in a public school system is non-existent....
In our case, we raised our 3 children in Spain, at a time when - thanks to General Franco - drugs were simply not available and sex amongst teenagers was unknown. We put the kids in a private school (German, with professors from Berlin), and, when classes let out, my wife spent the next hour with them teaching them English. Although we took each child out of school at age 15, each was better educated than the majority of today's high school graduates, and could speak, read and write in 3 lanuages."
Well.....isn't that SPECIAL! Your children are so wonderful! And they conform perfectly to the author's delusionally controlled universe.
Do not waste your time on this book. It is a puff piece for the author's ego, and how "smart" (and anti-social) he is.

What good is a privacy book that exposes lots of what used to be good privacy tactics to the opposition??? Hmmm, has the author sold out the audience? The very same people that buy Your book, the ones that You claim to have been trying to help??? Wow!!! Rough!!! Hopefully people new to privacy will pick this one up at at least to get a glimpse of some of the important things to do to help themselves get ,and maintain a more private life. Example never, ever, ever have Your real address on IDs, do not ever give them the real place that You sleep! Why not have a small business to keep licensing your vehicles, open a bank account, and such?? Getting an passport is another thing so few American choose to do , but might be prudent as getting one in an national emergency would be very unlikely. Getting Your mail exactly where You live isn't overly bright either. Telling everyone every single detail of your life in person or on a form ,governmental ,or not is not the way to go either. Utilities in your name?? Unencrypted emails ,tisk ,tisk?? Learn to be more discreet, be a pebble amongst the stones, or maybe a rolling one, a real PT, travel all over, and be free. All things in life have a cost, being private does too, and is sometimes an expensive proposition,a hassle too, but whats the cost of being tracked down by a psycho, stalker or other weirdo?? If you get this book, read it ,and actually use it, some of these strategies could save your ,and or your families lives, and whats that worth?

This is such an excellent book on privacy techniques. It really touches every aspect of your life that you thought was privacy protected. What I like the most is that JJ Luna discusses various levels of privacy, and more important the privacy that fits you. So the more privacy you want the more steps you can take to acheive it. He even talks many methods on paying people, to titling your car etc, I highly recommend it. So all friends of Elishia Windfohr will be getting this for xmas. This will be your new bible, no puns intended. So privacy protect your life not just for yourself but for the future of our children.
So next person who says Elishia Windfohr please explain how can i attain privacy? their getting this book. end of story!

This book was great stuff. I learned more about privacy from this book than I have in my entire life. It is a very good book about learning the ropes of attaining and maintaining privacy. I would say anyone who is remotely concerned about their safety or privacy should read this book.

This book was very disappointing. Don't waste your time. Instead of providing and concrete resources, the main advice is to fudge your SSN or have someone receive your mail. Skip this tome.
